Throughout the years there have been dozens of items released using the Garbage Pail Kids images and names. Some of these were official releases by Topps, Inc. to help promote their card releases, and some were released by 3rd party companies in an attempt to cash-in on the craze that surrounded the stickers in the late 1980's. Below, I have attempted to provide a breakdown of some of the items that have been released through the years.
CHEAP TOYS
Cheap Toys were tiny 'M.U.S.C.L.E.'-like figures that were released in 1986. While there ended up being 2 Series releases for Cheap Toys, this section will focus on Series 1 only.

TOPPS, INC.
Even though it seems like most of the 'GPK-Themed' merchandise was released by third-party companies, that isn't true. Topps, Inc. was in fact responsible for distributing a number of great items in addition to the cards.
|
IMPERIAL TOYS
Imperial Toys Corp. was the undisputed KING of Garbage Pail Kids merchandise. They jumped on the bandwagon like no other and released a number of different items, ranging from Pencil Cases to Sunglasses. Truly, some great items!

THE GPK MOVIE
While never to be mistaken for a box-office hit, the Garbage Pail Kids movie did generate some nice memoribilia.
|
BOOTLEG ITEMS
There were a number of Garbage Pail Kids merchandise items that were produced by random companies and are now quite rare. They were generally distributed on a limited basis and are therefore quite rare in most instances.

OTHER
This section will just serve as a 'dumping ground' for all the other one-off's, and odds-and-ends that don't quite necessitate a category of their own.
