Starting in 2010, Topps Inc. decided to celebrate the magic of the 1980's Garbage Pail Kids release with an all new release: The Flashback Series 1! To date there have been a total of three Flashback releases.

The Flashback Series releases contain a base set consisting of familiar characters from the past, only this time they are given new colorful borders to distinguish them from the 1980's version. The Flashback releases are also full of new features including subsets, sketch cards, and chase sets.
